It is $10.00 a negative for the first 5 ($50.00) and then the amount drops down to $5.00 a negative.

Academy of Dance Disney 2010

Well as a dance teacher you spend so much time working towards your recital, there are countless hours spent in the studio, and behind the scenes working to make sure that your girls are ready and that everything goes smooth. As a dance teacher it was definitely pay-day! I want to let all the girls and parents know how proud I am of each and every one of the girls. They looked beautiful and they danced incredible, I couldn't have been more excited for them to have the opportunity to show off all of their hard work. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with each and every girl, and feel so lucky to have such supportive and involved parents, it truly means more then you will every know!

Recital is fast approaching!

Dear parents:

I am so excited and can’t believe how quickly time has gone by this year. We are fast approaching our recital and I couldn’t be more excited for the girls to show off their amazing talent. Here are a few reminders.

1. Dress rehearsal May 24^th from 6:00-7:30 at South Hills Middle School 13501 S. 4000 W. We sill start promptly at 6:00 so please don’t be late. Girls need to come completely dressed and ready to dance.

2. Recital: May 25^th from 6:00-7:30 the girls need to arrive no later than 5:30 and be fully dressed and ready to dance as well. This year I will only be sending the 2 year olds back to parents the 3-4 year old classes will stay back stage.

3. Girls that have more than one costume please see the list below to know which costume to show up in.

a. Academy D: Hip hop (metallic pink, with gold, and tennis shoes)

b. Academy C: Jazz (same costume as for pictures…pink, green or blue halter top with matching short/Capri pants.)

c. Academy B: Jazz (purple velvet top and pants)

d. Academy A: Mackenzie and Ciara Solo everyone else hip hop (jump suits)

P.S. Reminder discount for early registration for returning students is only good until the recital, some of the classes are quickly filling up so be sure to get the classes you want for the fall!

New Schedule!

I am excited to announce that the new

2010-2011 schedule will be going home this week!

The blog has been updated to reflect the new schedule as well.

Starting this week I will open registration to returning students. There is a $5 discount on the registration fee for returning students who register before the recital ($15 and $10 for each additional.)

Starting May 17th I will open registration to new students, so if you have friends or family who may be interested in starting at the studio in the fall please let me know and I will send home additional information.

I will also still hold the registration open house for returning and new students July 31st from 12:00-2:00 pm at the studio

Picture Day Info

Picture Day is scheduled for Friday April 30^th; please see the schedule below for picture times. We tried to work the schedule out to accommodate multiple dancer families the best we could, but we do realize that some families will have some time between pictures; we apologize and appreciate your understanding.

-Due to inclement weather we will relocate the pictures back to “Academy of Dance” studio. Please check the blog www.academyofdance01.blogspot.com around 2:30 if the weather is bad to see if the location has changed, or call me on my cell. 801-842-9900

-We will be having pictures at “The Cove” at Herriman Springs. The Cove at Herriman Springs is located at: 7200 W. 14200 S. – Herriman From Bangerter Hwy drive 5.5 mi west until you reach 13400 S. Turn west. Drive 3.0 mi going west until you reach 6400 W. Turn left. Drive .6 mi going south to 13875 South (Rose Canyon Rd). Turn right. Drive 1 mi until you see 6990 West (Spring Canyon Rd). Turn left.

-Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your daughter’s picture time. This will allow “Pink Daffodil” to get each girl registered, and will ensure that we keep to the schedule! We will have registrations forms available at the pictures but if you would like to pay early please drop your registration off to Academy of Dance but be sure that all checks are made out directly to “Pink Daffodil”

-Hair and make-up: Please have the girls in some make-up to brighten up faces but not quite as bold as stage make-up. For hair please do their hair the way that suits them best, we want them to look their very best and feel confident for their pictures!

Well it is a new year, and I am so excited about our dance year ahead!

I am so excited that it is that time of year...Recital time! The girls have been working so hard and I am thrilled with their progress this year. A reminder that it is now too late to exchange costumes before the recital. Any questions you have about costumes let me know either prior to or at the dress rehearsal! Reminder:

- October 26th - October 29th the girls can wear their Halloween costumes to dance. We will be playing some fun Halloween games, and making up Halloween dances in class.

-Winter recital and rehearsal dates are as follows...
Saturday December 12th 9:00-11:00 am Rehearsal at the studio for all girls 5 and up. The girls won't need to wear costumes, and can bring a drink and a small snack.
Monday December 14th 6:00-7:30 p.m. Dress rehearsal at South Hills Middle School.. All girls need to come dressed and ready with full make-up and all costumes and shoes.
Tuesday December 15th 6:00-7:30 pm Recital at South Hills Middle School. All girls will need to be there at 5:45 pm so we can start right at 6:00 pm.

-A $15.00 recital fee/per girl is due with November Tuition.

-The week of the recital there will still be classes on Wednesday and Thursday. If Monday and Tuesday classes are interested I will do a make-up day on Friday December 18th. Girls from either day can come to the following schedule.
3:15-4:00 pm 2-4 yr. olds
4:00-5:30 pm 5-7 yr. olds
Any 8-10 yr olds can come to the Wednesday class from 5:00-7:00 pm for their make-up class.

-Quick reminder that tuition is due at the 1st of the month, any payments received after the 10th of the month/semester will be subject to an automatic %15 charge to your account (this is in the policies and procedures under tuition.)

-To ensure that all costumes will be here for the recital I must have Jazz costume money by the 25th of September. When I order a large amount of costumes I get a discount on shipping and this is reflected in the price you pay. If I recieve costume money late there is an added $15.00 fee to cover the full price of shipping, and I can't guarantee that it will be here by the recital. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Hip hop costume money isn't due until October 9th.

-Please remind your daughters that it is important to treat the studio with respect. I have found liter around my yard, and several of my books have the pages ripped out of them. Please remind them that it is important to treat it as they would their own homes!

-With winter fast approaching, as does the flu and cold season. Please remember that you always have the option to send your daughter to a make-up class if she misses due to ilness.

COSTUMES!!!

Well it is that time of year...Costume ordering time! I will be measuring the girls in class over the next couple of weeks. If you will not be in class please let me know so that I can get their measurements from you. Each girls will get a jazz costume and some will also get a hip hop costume. These costumes will be used in the Winter and Spring recitals.

Money for the Jazz costume is due on or before September 25th, I have to get the orders in before the 28th in order to recieve our costumes before the Christmas recital. The hip hop costume money isn't due until October 9th, if you would like to pay for them all together please be sure to specify in the memo section on your check.
