First week of classes/Costume Prices

Hey Parents, 

          The first  week of classes went great, so fun to see so many familiar and new faces in classes this past week. Thanks so much for getting tuition into the studio on time. Reminder all tuition is late after the 10th and there is a $10 late fee...NO EXCEPTIONS!!! 

 

          Most of the girls have been measured for costumes (If not last week I will measure them this week.) Costumes will be ordered hopefully by the end of next week (I have to order early in order to get the costumes here in enough time to do exchanges.) Below I have included the costume prices. All girls with 1 costume fee's are due September 1st, girls with more then one costume will be broken up into 2 installments the first installment is due September 1st and the 2nd installment due October 1st. I realize some of you have multiple girls with multiple costumes, I am more then happy to break up costume fee's into more installments, please e-mail me directly! 

This year Costume Fee's will need to be paid to me directly (BRITTANI KNUDSEN.) Please don't combine tuition and costumes. Tuition is written out to Academy of Dance and Costume fee's are written out to Brittani Knudsen. 

      Be sure to put December 16th and 17th on your calendar for the winter concert...hopefully Spring concert dates are coming soon! We will be doing dress rehearsal a little differently this year, info and times will be coming out soon. 

     In class this year we will be learning a lot of Ballet terms, to help the girls remember what is being taught in class vocabulary will be sent home each month with the girls. We also have classroom goals in each class. If the girls are able to pass of each goal they will receive a special treat. We will be doing a big focus and push on technique this year. I really want the girls to be able to do the technique as well as tell you what the terms mean. Also it is very important that girls are working on their flexibility at home as well as in the studio. Girls can do splits, wall stretches and leg extensions at home as well as in class. These will all help immensely with so many things (leaps, turns, kicks...etc.)

Classes starting one week from TODAY!!!

Dear Parents, 

        I can hardly believe that dance summer is coming to an end, Classes will start up Monday August 3rd. I am so excited to have so many returning and new students this coming dance year. I wanted to send out a few reminders about some of the policies and procedures here at the studio! 

Parking:The west side of the road is designated strictly for DROP-OFF, if you need to park please do so on the East side of the road, in my drive way or in front of my house. Absolutely NO double parking, and please do not block the corner. I have great neighbors and want to be especially mindful to keep parking quick and smooth so as not to disrupt the flow of regular traffic.  

Tuition: All tuition is due on the 1st of each month. All tuition paid after the 10th will have a $10 late fee automatically added there will be no exceptions. I send out e-mail reminders each month with all the info you will need for that month. Be sure that your e-mails from academyofdance01@gmail.com aren't going to junk mail. 

Tuition can be turned into the tuition box on the desk, if paying with cash please be sure it is in an envelope labeled with the dancer's name and class time. 

Multi-dance Family Discount: All multi-family dancer families receive a 10% discount each month 

Semester Tuition: If you choose to pay by semester (August-December and January-May) there is a 10% discount for single students or a 5% discount for multi-dancer families (total of 15% with the added 10% multi-family dancer discount) 

Make-Up Classes: I do NOT pro-rate for missed classes, please feel free to do a make-up class in an age appropriate class. Please e-mail or text if you will be missing classes. It is very important that girls are in classes each week, technique and dances will be worked on and added to weekly. 

Dress Code:Dance attire is required in all classes, leotards, biketards, tanks, leggins, tights are all acceptable dance attire. Absolutely NO street clothing, sweats or baggy clothing. Girls are required to wear dance shoes in class. Ballet, Jazz or Foot Undeez are all acceptable. Girls need to have hair pulled up and out of their faces. If girls come with their hair down I will have elastics they will have to use to pull their hair up. Absoluty NO jewelry of any kind allowed in class. 

Costumes:Costume fee's will come out in August and will be due in September. I will post pictures and prices on the blog. 

Recital: There will be a Winter and Spring recital. I have submitted my dates to the district and am waiting to hear back from the high school's once teachers are back in the schools. I will send out both dates as soon as I have them. 

Snacks: Please send water and a small (CLEAN) snack for Academy girls. They will have a small break during class. 

Bathroom:Please be sure that girls use the restroom prior to coming to class.

Whew that is a lot of info, and I'm sure I am forgetting something(s).

My goal is for each girl to receive quality dance instruction in a positive learning environment, I am passionate about what I do and I hope to instill that in each of these dancers. Picture Day Location Change

ATTENTION: 

           Well sadly this awesome Utah weather is making things a little difficult for picture day tomorrow! As such we will be moving pictures to the studio. Please plan to keep the schedule and all other info exactly the same but plan to meet for all pics at the studio. If you are unsure of what costume or how your daughters hair should be please refer to an email sent last week. also reminder all info is up on the blog as well. So excited for pictures, it is my favorite getting to see the girls in their costumes!!! Thanks so much for being flexible and if you have any questions please let me know. 

As far as parking goes it is a Saturday, please be curteous of neighbors feel free to park in front of my house as well as on the side. Please do not double park, and please don't park on the corner by the stop sign. 

I've attached the order form, order forms also went home during the week and Kevin will have some at the studio as well. Kevin Lunt Photography always does such a great job, please remember if you would like photos in more then one costume be sure to bring additional costumes and accessories!
